This week seemed very long to me. I don't know what I would have done if it would have been a full week! It was interesting to learn what teachers to in preperation for a break. For example, not teaching new material the last day of class before a break. I also enjoyed having a little fun with my students on Thursday, doing an "easter egg" hunt.
What I would change this week, would be to hurry along my keyboarding students a little more. Mrs. Emery said they are a little bit behind, so I will now be cutting out some of the material for the next few lessons to get them caught back up.

I agree it was interesting to learn what teachers must do in preparation for a break. I know that I will reviewing the material we covered in Accounting when we return from break. I sometimes have to hurry my students up too, sometimes they will milk an assignment. I usually make sure I have a due date on all assignments. The students then know that if it's not done they must finish it. Hope you have a great last few weeks!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. There is a lot of preparation for an upcomming break. The logistics of keeping all of the classes on pace and Tuesday's half day for me was a little confusing, but it turned out good and I am on track for this week. I hope the next two weeks goes by faster than last week for you. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThis week did feel like a long one. I also found it beneficial to see the reality of a school day before a break. The students definitely knew what was coming! Good luck with getting your students caught up in keyboarding; I know you'll do well! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of preparation and thought going into every break, in-service day, and when you are absent from school like the FBLA conference. I have always felt that it is a lot of work to be off than to just teach five days a week. Not starting new material before a break is crucial. It is best to do something "extra" that is fun and different from the norm. The students are usually in that frame of mind anyway so why not appeal to the audience!
